You asked. I answered. Now we have a date.
I’ve been flirting with the idea of gathering a few of you around a table for a while. Apparently I flirted a little too hard because now we have plans. I think I’ve really just been looking for my people. People who are curious, want to learn about culture, make something beautiful, eat something good, and maybe leave knowing someone they didn’t when they walked in.
That’s Conexão.
CONEXÃO x ikebana
see you there.
Whether you have a question, an idea, or just For our first gathering, we’re playing with flowers and celebrating autumn through ikebana. Think deep jewel tones, changing leaves, beautiful branches and all the rich, weird little textures that make this season so good.
I’ll share what I’ve learned about ikebana, the principles behind the practice, and a few tricks for choosing and caring for flowers so they actually last. You’ll create your own arrangement and take home your kenzan so you can play again later.
Kyru is joining us with a floral inspired matcha, alongside light grazing and a beautiful little place to capture you, your flowers, or your new friend.
And speaking of new friends: come alone. I encourage it. Bring your bestie if you want, but don’t disappear into your duo. Conexão is about meeting the people you didn’t arrive with.
I’m intentionally keeping this one small, with limited seating so we can actually share a table, talk, learn and connect.
Plan for about two hours together.
A disclaimer: I am not a florist. I am a connector, a tastemaker and an extremely curious person who loves falling down a rabbit hole and bringing everyone else with me.
